The architects restoring this small church community centre and theater asked Appear to create a new wayfinding system that better reflected the historical landmark’s 1950s detailing.
By applying an early 20th century display font directly to the walls and doors, as would have been customary at the time, Appear avoided adding new materials to the interior. The system includes directional signage, a custom whiteboard and original 50s-inspired pictograms. A sign above the entrance now ensures that both first-time and regular visitors feel welcome.
