The architects restoring this church community centre and theater asked Appear to create a new wayfinding system that reflected the protected building’s 1950s detailing.
By applying an early 20th century display font directly to the walls and doors, as would have been customary at the time, Appear avoided adding new materials to the interior. The system includes directional signage, a custom whiteboard and original 50s-inspired pictograms. A new sign above the entrance welcomes first-time and regular visitors.
